EBRA Strategy 2024 - 2028

Setting EBRA’s strategic future

The EBRA strategy 2024 – 2028 sets out an ambitious and exciting programme of work that will guide EBRA’s strategic future. The new strategy includes initiatives to increase EBRA’s visibility, streamline internal operations, and extend its membership to new registers.

Background

In late 2022, the EBRA Board took the decision to renew its strategy to reflect the current operational context for the business registries, the needs of the membership, and EBRA’s future aspirations. The Board engaged with an external consultant to provide experience and guidance during the development of the strategy.

The new strategy would:

  • Reflect on the previous statement of strategy.
  • Take a holistic review of all the factors now relevant to EBRA.
  • Focus on the benefits that members derive from EBRA’s services.
  • Reflect on changes within the operational and global context of its membership.
  • Seek approval from members for this strategy.

During 2023, the Board developed the strategy in a series of workshops. EBRA members were kept up to date via email updates, a dedicated online workshop, and in the General Assembly meetings. Members had the opportunity to provide feedback on the ideas that were emerging and the direction of the strategy.

The final EBRA strategy 2024 – 2028 is based around six key themes that reflect EBRA’s commitment to evolving both its internal operations and external reach.

At the November General Assembly 2023, the strategic themes were agreed with a majority vote.

Implementation of the strategy

The themes set out in the strategy are both ambitious and a natural extension of the work that has been undertaken since the Association was formed in 2019.

They will result in enhanced representation, more streamlined management, an acknowledgment of best practice in the registries, and an extension of the membership to new registers that can learn as much from EBRA as we can learn from them.

The EBRA Board looks forward to seeing the development of the five-year strategy and engaging with members on its staged implementation.
